Casting log — early May
A short month. Two pours, one repair, one new pattern.
Pours
- April 30 — Six escutcheons (the C932 run from the "Hello, world" post). Five clean, one cold shut. Re-melted.
- May 2 — Four door pulls in C955. All four clean. Slight grain on the underside of pull #3; filed.
Repair
A pelmet finial came back from a client with a hairline crack near the boss. We brazed it with a low-temperature silver alloy, cleaned the seam, and re-polished. Sent it back the same week.
Pattern
A new template for a small escapement plate — wax cut, photographed, archived. Not poured yet; the client has not signed off on the drawing. We will not flask until they do.
What did not happen
We did not pour anything bigger than 200 g this month. The crucible is due for relining and we have been pushing small work through the smaller pot in the meantime. Relining is on the schedule for the second week of May.
